Self-support protocol
Emotional dependency protocol strengthening autonomy teams. Build independence through self-soothing skill development.
Attention to all attachment and boundary units!
We observe a pattern of living through one person: constant need for contact, collapse when there is distance, fear of being abandoned. Our mission is to keep the capacity for closeness, while rebuilding inner support and boundaries.
Name the pattern without blaming
Restore inner coordinates
Strengthen other sources of support
Train being alone, not abandoned
Эмоциональная зависимость формировалась годами как способ выживать. Шаг за шагом можно добавить к ней другие способы: опору на себя, разнообразие связей и способность выдерживать временную дистанцию.
Emotional dependency involves excessive psychological reliance on another person for emotional regulation, self-worth, and identity—experiencing intense anxiety and dysfunction when separated or when the relationship is threatened. This pattern often develops from attachment difficulties, where individuals didn't develop secure internal emotional regulation capacity. Neurologically, emotional dependency reflects underdeveloped self-soothing and emotion regulation systems, with the prefrontal cortex and limbic system requiring external regulation from others. When your organism is your team, view emotional dependency as your emotional regulation departments never having fully developed independent capacity—they rely on external managers (other people) rather than internal systems. Your stress response teams become dysregulated without the other person's presence, your self-worth evaluation teams outsource their assessments to external validation, and your identity formation crews struggle with independent definition. This framework guides healing: developing emotion regulation skills becomes training your internal teams to handle distress independently, building self-worth becomes establishing your own internal evaluation systems, and secure attachment in therapy becomes safe practice space for your independence-building crews. Understanding that emotional dependency reflects developmental needs that weren't met—not inherent weakness—reduces shame. Your organism can develop regulatory capacity at any age through consistent practice, therapeutic support, and gradual independence building. You can train your teams to function autonomously. ⚕️ This protocol does not replace professional consultation.
