Self-support protocol
Heat stroke protocol activating thermoregulation recovery teams. Restore safe body temperature through cooling and hydration coordination.
Attention, fighters! Brain temperature center declares highest level alert. Temperature level is critically exceeded, heat control systems are working at limit. Enemy - overheating - threatens integrity of our structure. All units immediately proceed to execute emergency cooling protocol.
Sweat Glands - activate maximum release for evaporative cooling. Increase sweat production threefold, ensure constant coverage of skin surface with cooling fluid.
Skin Blood Vessels - execute immediate vessel widening. Expand tiny vessel diameter for maximum heat removal from internal organs to body surface.
Heart and Blood System - increase beating frequency to speed up blood circulation. Redirect blood flow to surface cooling zones, maintain stable blood pressure.
Brain Cells - activate protective heat shield proteins. Form molecular shield against protein damage, protect critically important brain structures.
Kidneys and Salt Service - compensate for fluid and mineral losses. Maintain balance of salts, prevent cell drying.
Liver Cells - launch detoxification of heat stress products. Neutralize harmful particles, restore processing stability.
Breathing System - increase breathing frequency for additional heat release through lungs. Every exhale is heat removal from the body.
Fighters, we are a team shaped by millions of years of evolution! Our heat control systems are created to defeat any overheating. We act together, clearly, without panic. Every cell at its post. Operation "Cooling" has begun. Temperature balance will be restored. This is an order!
Heat stroke is a life-threatening condition where the body's temperature regulation system fails, causing core temperature to rise dangerously above 40°C (104°F). This occurs when heat exposure exceeds the body's cooling capacity through sweating and heat dissipation. Protein denaturation begins at extreme temperatures, causing cellular damage, particularly in the brain. Symptoms include altered mental status, absence of sweating despite heat, rapid pulse, and potential seizures or unconsciousness. The organism-as-team framework: your temperature control team—primarily your hypothalamus thermostat and sweat cooling team—becomes overwhelmed when environmental heat exceeds their capacity to dissipate it. Your cardiovascular team redirects blood to skin for cooling, but in extreme heat this becomes insufficient. As core temperature rises, your cellular teams throughout your body experience damage—proteins unfold, enzymes malfunction, and cell membranes destabilize. Your brain team is particularly vulnerable. This is a medical emergency requiring immediate cooling and medical care. Prevention means supporting your cooling teams: adequate hydration helps your sweat team function, avoiding extreme heat protects your thermoregulation capacity, and recognizing early warning signs (heat exhaustion) allows intervention before your temperature control teams fail catastrophically. ⚕️ This protocol does not replace professional consultation.
