Work order: Ease discomfort. Apply local sprays or lozenges with anesthetic. Take anti-inflammatory medication if needed. Gargle with anti-inflammatory solutions. Drink tea with honey and lemon to calm the lining.
Work order: Help the defense system resolve the cause. Rest; immunity works best with downtime. Increase vitamin C and zinc intake. Stay well hydrated to flush toxins. Avoid chills. Viral cases typically resolve in 5–7 days.
Work order: Determine whether specific therapy is needed. If streptococcal infection is suspected, perform testing and use antibiotics per physician guidance. Signs include tonsillar coating, high fever, no runny nose. Most sore throats are viral—antibiotics are unnecessary and harmful when misused.
Once the mucosa heals, throat pain fades and swallowing normalizes. Viral cases improve within a week. If pain is severe, persists beyond a week, or breathing becomes difficult, seek medical care. Prevention includes hand hygiene, humidified air, and general immune support.
