Task 1: Vein Valves — you are the one-way gates designed to prevent backflow as blood travels upward against gravity. Many of you have become weak due to genetics, prolonged standing, pregnancy, or aging. While we cannot repair you directly, we can reduce the workload by activating the muscle pump and using external compression.
Task 2: Calf Muscle Pump — you are the primary engine for blood return from the legs. Each contraction of the calf muscles squeezes the deep veins, pushing blood upward toward the heart. Prolonged standing or sitting deactivates this pump. Your mission: activate frequently. Walking, calf raises, and leg movement are essential.
Task 3: Vein Walls — you are structurally weakened by chronic pressure and widening. Twisted veins have lost their spring, becoming baggy. We are implementing compression therapy to externally support your walls and prevent further widening. Compression stockings act as an artificial muscular layer.
Task 4: Blood Volume and Thickness — excess blood pooling in the legs is partly due to gravity, but also influenced by total fluid volume. Adequate hydration maintains blood fluidity. Prolonged heat causes vessel widening and worsens pooling. Maintain optimal thickness and avoid excessive vessel widening.
Task 5: Drainage System — you work alongside veins to drain tissue fluid from the legs. When vein pressure rises, drainage becomes impaired, contributing to leg swelling. Elevation, movement, and compression support your function.
Task 6: Inflammation Signals — chronic blood pooling triggers low-grade inflammation in the vein walls and surrounding tissues. We are reducing inflammation through movement, compression, and avoiding prolonged legs-down position.
